Living Consciously, Simpler, and Sustainably

The Eco Village is an intentional community created to experiment with and explore innovative ways of achieving total sustainability. By focusing on social, cultural, ecological, and economic harmony, our residents live consciously and simpler—minimising their impact on the earth.

We believe that home is where the heart is. It is a welcoming place filled with people where everyone feels accepted, cared for, and completely comfortable.

Vredefort: Our Experimental Town

Vredefort was purposefully selected for this pilot-project to serve as a model for community restoration. Over the past two years, we have focused on solving localized challenges through sustainable innovation:

  • Housing Solutions: Providing dignified, comfortable housing and quality living conditions tailored for SASSA pensioners.
  • Renewable Energy & Food Security: Implementing clean energy systems and independent food production to ensure long-term community resilience.
  • Care & Support Services: Delivering the essential daily support networks necessary to guarantee a high quality of life for vulnerable residents.

Local Economic Integration & Job Creation

The Eco Village is not isolated; it is deeply integrated into the local fabric and serves as a major asset to the Vredefort economy.

  • Sourcing Locally: We intentionally source and supply goods and services within the small town of Vredefort and the surrounding area.
  • Creating Employment: Our model builds local trust, facilitates cost-saving business transactions, and directly creates sustainable local jobs.
  • Restoring Tourism Status: By building a resilient, beautiful, and self-sufficient community, we aim to give Vredefort its status as a thriving tourist destination back.

Looking Ahead: Inspiring a Sustainable Future

Having achieved most of our core objectives within our first two years, we are ready to expand our impact. Our goal now is to inspire and guide local initiatives that foster eco-friendly lifestyles, helping other communities become resilient, sustainable, and connected.
